The bushels

Characteristics of the bushels

A grain bin is a bulk grain storage silo with a conical bottom in which the cylinder stops at the top of the discharge cone. The loads are taken up in the cement by the uprights supported by feet.

The conical bottom of the bushel allows, unlike a flat bottom, complete emptying of the cereals by gravity.

Galvanization protects the bushel. The duration of protection is proportional to the thickness of the zinc, so the cylinder of a bushel, its feet and its frame are galvanized Z600 (600 grams of zinc/m²) (or hot).

Bushel diameters

The buckets are available with a diameter of 2,68 to 8 meters. A bucket has a capacity of up to 600 tons and can be equipped with temperature sensors and devices for ventilation.

Slope: 45° or 60°, depending on the product stored.

Loading bushels

The loading chutes have a 45° slope, in accordance with the technical sheet available for download.

In round bushels, the cone angle is the same across the entire cone so the grain flows very well, unlike square bushels.

Privé SA has been manufacturing silos in France for over 60 years.

Privé SA exports 50% of its production.

Privé SA is ISO 9001 certified.

Conical bottom silos

Features of conical bottom silos

A cone bottom silo is a storage silo in which the cylinder descends to the ground. It is an alternative to bushel bins with a lower price per ton accommodated.

The conical bottom silo is different from the silo equipped with a discharge cone. In a conical bottom silo the loads of the cone are taken by a peripheral hoop and posts attached to the cylinder. Thus, in a conical bottom silo, the interior slab is completely clear to allow the passage of grain transport equipment.

Conical Bottom Silo Options

Conical bottom silos are available in diameters of 4,46 to 8 meters. A bushel has a capacity of between 8 and 600 tons depending on its diameter and height.

The cone elements can be perforated or not. The perforation option allows the cell to be used as a long-term storage cell (after the drying season for example).

Models of conical bottom silos

The conical bottom of the silo is available with a 45 degree slope.

Loading bushels

Characteristics of loading bushels

The loading bin is a conical bottom silo for storing and shipping grains. The loading bin has a height under the valve of 4,40 meters for loading trucks.

Galvanization extends the life of the loading barrel. In fact, the duration of protection is proportional to the thickness of the ZINC. The cylinder, the hoop, the cone and the feet of the loading barrel are entirely galvanized Z600 (600 grams of zinc/m2) or hot-dip galvanized.

In a Private round bushel, the angle of the cone is identical all around the cone. Unlike a square bushel in which the angle is 45 degrees only on the sides. Thus in square bushels, the grain flows less well in English ones in which the angles are less than 45 degrees.

Loading Bushel Options

The loading chute is available with a diameter of 3,57 metres or 4,75 metres.

The loading bucket has a capacity of up to 142 tons.

Loading Bushels Models

The loading chute is available with a 45 degree slope.
